Opportunity is knocking... one last time

The Festival of Design is Saturday. All week the school has been airing radio ads for this event. The Chamber of Commerce has written its members about this event. The Admissions and Student Services Departments have reached out into the community to publicize this event. We have numerous employers and advisory board members attending this event. There are reportedly going to be live broadcasts from the event.

All of this is being done for one purpose. To help get exposure for you and your talents.

You don't have to attend. You don't have to create new projects. What we would like is simply for you to find 5 of your best projects, print them, mount them, and have them to campus by 2 p.m. on Friday so that maybe an interested employer can be made aware of your talent.

Opportunities like this don't happen often. I hope you will take advantage of it.

Festival of Design - Spreading the Word

How to maximize your exposure.

1) Go to Keiser University's event page for The Festival of Design. RSVP that you are attending and then make sure to invite as many people on your friend's list as you can. Whether they attend or not, they may mention it to somebody who knows a potential client or employer. We talk about networking, if we ALL do it, we all benefit from it.

2) "Like" the posts on FB about the Festival of Design. Positive comments are even more helpful.

3) Add a post in your blog about the Festival of Design. The more we mention it, the more people will hear about it.

4) Mention the Festival of Design in your Facebook status at least once this week and once next week.

5) Sign up to help with a seminar. What a great way to really show your knowledge and expertise.

6) Personally invite three friends to come check out the great work you have been doing.

7) Tweak your best work for display.

8) Create one new super-fantastic piece to show at the festival.

9) Make sure your online portfolio is in good shape and make sure you have a current resume on file with student services.

10) A printed mini portfolio for interested employers is also a nice added touch.

Hey KG. Since you have nothing much on your plate at the moment, what do you think about screen printed tee-shirts for the Festival? Or at least for the seminar presenters?

Anyone want a little extra exposure by creating an awesome template for this blog?
